Boca Raton has no shortage of country clubs, but Boca Grove has a personality of its own: a single, intimate community of fewer than 450 homes, a golf course you can play without booking a tee time, and a racquet and wellness program that has grown with the families who live there. Here is what daily life looks like inside the gates, and what buyers should know before they tour a home there.
A boutique community, not a small city
Boca Grove is a gated, members-only golf and country club community in west Boca Raton. Its own materials describe a membership of fewer than 450 families, and a profile in the Boca Raton Observer put the community at 443 homes and more than 365 children. That size is the point. You see the same neighbors at the pool, on the courts and at dinner, and the club calendar is built around families as much as golfers. Homes sit inside a manned gate with security patrol.
Golf as it was meant to be played
The course is the centerpiece. Boca Grove's 18 holes were originally designed by Karl Litten and opened for play in 1982, then redesigned by Jim Fazio in 2011. The course plays to a par of 72 at about 6,808 yards, and the club's signature promise is simple: no tee times. You show up and play.
The course also has history. In the early 1980s Boca Grove hosted the Quadel Senior Classic, which Arnold Palmer won in 1983 and 1984 and Gary Player won in 1985. Player made Boca Grove his first American home and has remained an honorary member.

A racquet program for tennis, pickleball and padel
Boca Grove has a long tennis tradition and has hosted USTA championship matches. Today the club offers Har-Tru clay courts plus an imported Italian red clay stadium court, five pickleball courts and two padel courts. The club was the first in Boca Raton to introduce padel, a fast, social racquet sport that has caught on quickly with members. Clinics, round robins and league play make it easy for newcomers to find a game.

The Curve: wellness, pools and a place for kids
In November 2021 the club opened The Curve, a two-story sports and wellness center of more than 14,000 square feet. It includes a full gym, Pilates and group fitness studios, and wellness amenities such as an infrared sauna and cold plunge. Next to it is a zero-entry, resort-style pool connected to an Olympic-size lap pool, along with a splash pad, a playground and a children's center. The club reports that its aquatics facility was ranked first in Florida and seventh nationally by Club & Resort Business magazine.
Dining and social life
The clubhouse was renovated and reopened to members in October 2017, with golf and tennis shops, meeting rooms and dining. In total the club lists seven dining venues, from more formal private dining to a sports bar and casual poolside cafes. For many members, the social calendar is as big a draw as the golf.
Location: the middle of everything in Boca
Boca Grove sits near Glades Road and Powerline Road in west Boca Raton. From there it is a short drive to Town Center Mall, Mizner Park, the Atlantic beaches and I-95, and both Palm Beach International and Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International airports are within easy reach. That combination of a quiet, gated setting with quick access to the rest of South Florida is a big part of why buyers relocating from the Northeast and elsewhere look here.
